The choice of a city or village as a preferred place of residence is based on a different system of values. Many restrictions that did not take into account the role here, which were not taken into account: the difficulty of receiving housing in the city, moving and arranging life in a new place if there are children, the unacceptability of life without a personal subsidiary farm. In other words, ’, factors characterizing the specific life situation of the interviewed are put forward to the forefront. Being stronger, they drown out factors on which a high abstract assessment of the city is based. As a result, the urban orientation expressed during an abstract assessment is replaced by a traditional. The total value of the village as a place of residence is realized through a number of private goods characterizing the value for the rural person of individual elements of conditions and lifestyle. She is relative in two senses. Firstly, the significance of any good in the village is measured through a comparison with the city. This means that the city is involved in the formation of a particular value: people compare the presence and quality of this good in the conditions of the village and the city. Secondly, the significance of one good is measured with the significance of others. Consequently, having a set of private goods appreciated by a rural resident, provided by the village and the city, it is possible to establish the comparative value of these goods in the Village -City system and within the framework of the village as a place of residence. Based on this, we built a scheme for analyzing answers to the questions “What do you like in rural life?”,” What you don’t like about it?”. Estimates found in answers were divided into two groups, interpreted as indicators of traditional and urban values.
